The Cartridge Coater is designed for maximum flexibility and ease of use. Precision construction ensures accuracy and repeatability when changing cartridges. The backing or applicator roll sleeve system facilitates quick web width changes while the cartridges themselves can be set up or cleaned off-line. Options include reverse roll, gravure, offset gravure, Vari-coat gravure, mayer rod, slot-die, 5-roll and hot melt/slot die, knife over roll and comma roll cartridges.

Slot Die Coating Equipment supports either slot die coating with a rubber backing roller or precision steel backing roll, using either flex or fix-lip dies. Die to roll gap is controlled by precision wedge block positive stops. Die angle position is also adjustable.

Faustel’s Offset Gravure Coater provides the ability to coat both solventless coatings and water/solvent-based coatings. The gravure coater can be configured as a direct gravure (both forward and reverse application) for water or solvent-based coatings, while the offset gravure method is ideal for solventless coatings. Offset Gravure Coater may be operated with an enclosed applicator or with a traditional pan and doctor blade arrangement. The rolls are individually driven for maximum versatility in both coatweight and smooth lay-down.

Direct Gravure Coater may be purchased as a gravure coater only or as an offset gravure coater. Also, offset gravure may be added later if not purchased initially. Gravure coater may be operated with an enclosed applicator or with a traditional pan and doctor blade arrangement. Two-Sided Film Coater

Arranged for a horizontal web path, the Two-Sided Film Coater is designed to apply coatings to both sides of the web; for example, a web entering a horizontal tentering oven. Both coating heads function as either gravure or offset gravure. Coating heads are cartridge style for off-line clean-up, changeover or maintenance. Two-sided film coater can be supplied complete with drive and control package for easy retrofit into existing lines.

The Variable Repeat Gravure Coater is designed to apply a pattern coating which can be in-register with a pre-printed substrate. Gravure cylinder diameter can be changed to accommodate different print lengths. Supplied with coating pan and trailing doctor blade for best performance with pattern engraved gravure coating roll. A servo-motor drive system responds to feedback detecting position of pre-printed image to keep coating in close register throughout run. Can be supplied in-line to go with printing or die-cutting equipment, or as a stand-alone coating line.
