The Technology Center allows customers to develop or alter a coating, drying, curing or winding process before installation at their own plant.

The Technology Center allows customers to experiment with different coating, drying, curing or winding methods in the development of new processes or in the alteration of existing processes as they seek to bring new products to market or make manufacturing improvements to existing ones. This is important because it is impossible to accurately predict whether or not a given coating, drying or curing process will deliver the desired result, even if there are other, known instances of success in seemingly identical situations. For example, a coating application method may be in usage in similar applications, but subtle changes in raw materials, operating parameters, or, above all, market and quality requirements, may render it unsuitable in a different case. Pre-testing can uncover these potential pitfalls and more appropriate methodology can be discovered.

Faustel designed its Process and Technology Center with the same high level of precision they put into designing customers' lines. The production-style supervisory control system allows optimal command of this extremely flexible lab line. Over two dozen different web paths with over 1,000 different machine settings can be controlled and saved as recipes, and downloaded in a matter of seconds for repeat use. The capabilities of Faustel's in-house Control Systems Integration Group are further demonstrated in the extremely flexible AC Vector Siemens drive system.

Faustel's Process and Technology Center incorporates all well-known drying and curing technologies currently used in the converting industry as well as a wide variety of coating, laminating and winding methods. The line is geared for speeds of 10 - 2000 fpm. Web width ranges from 6"to 24" and tensions from 0.18 to 4 PLI.
