Faustel Develops New Turnkey Pilot Coater/Laminator LabMaster™ Plug & Play
Germantown, WI... Faustel, a leading manufacturer of web processing equipment for the paper, film and foil converting industry has developed a new pre-engineered pilot coater/laminator that is ideally suited for R. & D., and narrow web production coating/laminating. According to V. P. of Sales, Richard Greer, “The LabMaster™ Plug & Play was developed to enable more companies to own pilot lines. Because the LabMaster is pre-engineered, we can offer it at a more economical price and with a shortened delivery cycle.”
“The new LabMaster is a true “plug and play” system. It arrives preassembled on a unitized frame. There is virtually no mechanical installation, no electrical interconnections within the machine to be made, and no internal ducting required. There is but a single electrical interface, and the same is true the compressed air connection and for the oven exhaust. Also, the machine is compact for installation into a small space.”
The LabMaster Plug & Play is a complete pilot line that includes two unwinds, coater, laminator, dryer and rewind with integrated drives and controls. LabMaster can be configured for a variety of standard and optional coating methods that satisfy a broad range of applications. Dry bond laminator is standard and wet bond is optional. LabMaster is available in two versions. The standard Version A comes with an eight-foot single-zone dryer. Version B comes with a twenty-foot two-zone dryer. Both versions process webs up to 300mm (11.8”) wide, accommodate material rolls up to 300mm (11.8 “) OD and run at speeds up to 30m/min (100fpm, nominal).
Greer concludes, “The LabMaster is designed to make it possible for more companies to have their own laboratory or small-scale pilot coater. Not only is it economical to install, but the “plug and play” aspect of the machine really simplifies the installation and therefore eliminates what is normally a significant portion of the total project cost. Also, the machine is built well enough to function as a narrow web production center for those whose needs fall within the capability of the design. We have a demonstrator on-hand to help with this determination.”
